A New Approach to College & Career Preparedness & Success
The approach at CCIC is a hands-on, career-focused education with pathways in high-demand fields like healthcare, technology, and modern fabrication, preparing students for college pre-professional programs, apprenticeships, or direct entry into job placement. The campus is a separate facility available to all students at any high school in the Cherry Creek School District in Metro Denver.
As a lifelong competitive athlete, I have been exposed to the expertise and specialization of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. How I have seen this profession in practice inspired me to become like the many respectable practitioners I have met and had the good fortune to work with. And I have seen first-hand how their work has benefitted me.
Consequently, these experiences seeded my interest to pursue a career in Sports Medicine, and to potentially develop my own business practice as an entrepreneur. As I began to think about college programs that could support this ambition, I learned about a unique opportunity that seemed custom-tailored to my goal through CCIC, in collaboration with Pueblo Community College. Of course I jumped at the chance, applied to the program, and was delighted to be accepted.
In this year-long intensive, the CCIC PT/OT preparatory program offers specialized, integrated learning experiences, actual high performance testing equipment in a true lab setting, and opportunities to shadow real-world, credentialed practitioners through a partnership with HealthOne, which is a truly unique internship-style opportunity.
